I’m a queer Irish artist based in Kilkenny, trying to make multi-disciplinary work that is meaningful
I’m a multi-disciplinary Irish writer who has a keen interest in exploring queer identity and the Irish zeitgeist. My work in theatre has been performed internationally. Since finishing my undergrad degree in theatre and English in 2021, I’ve staged a reading of my dystopian play ‘Exit Music (For Our World)’ as part of Galway Theatre Festival, worked on various projects with Dublin Fringe Festival and Barnstorm Theatre Company, and performed Sarah Kane’s 4.48 Psychosis with WestWorks Theatre. I studied writing at The New School, New York and completed the BBC Writersroom Voices Programme in 2023. I also have a diploma in creative producing for film.
In late 2023 I was awarded a Spotlight development fund by Screen Ireland to write a first-draft feature film called Just Like You Said it Would Be. Since finishing that scheme, I’ve gone on to write and direct my first short film Womankind(a) and work with Screen Ireland on their Focus Shorts as a script supervisor.
I’m fluent in Irish and many of pieces of writing are partially or wholly in the Irish language. My last play, which premiered at the Galway Theatre Festival in 2024, was a one-person show as Gaeilge exploring queerness and identity.
